Bowl of Beauty Peony

Peonies are often anticipated in the garden for their colour and beauty. I have selected the Bowl of Beauty as I have long adored her colour combination of cream and lavender, favouring the more subtle tones of these shades as the flower fades. I love the combination of the feathery inner petals with the wide, cupped outer ones, as though a dollop of ice cream is being served in a large bowl.

Using crepe papers from Carte Fini we will recreate this flower which includes creating the inner carpels of the flower, to hand colouring the paper to achieve a soft lavender ombre. The backside of the flower will be completed with bud covers, leaves and more leaves to adorn the stem.

The biggest take away skills on this flower will be shaping and creating the inner petals of this flower that are almost 'feather' like. Beginners are welcome to this course! There are some intermediate techniques used in this course that can be achieved by all levels through practice and patience.
